The protected area is home to African bush elephant, Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, Masai giraffe, Grant's zebra, and blue wildebeest. It is also home to over 400 birdlife species like the globally threatened Madagascar pond-heron, lesser flamingo, lesser kestrel, shoebill, pelicans, crakes, kingfishers and over 40 types of raptors.
